    ASL or Gas?

    By LSO-21 | May 25, 2008

It is now Memorial Weekend, the traditional start of the Summer Season. As we’re standing on the corner, we noticed the gas station across the street. This Summer Season has new meaning that it didn’t have before…. Rising Gas Prices.

As we pondered what this means to everyone, we came to a realization. People shouldn’t have to choose between learning American Sign Language or paying for a tank of gas. So we made a decision this weekend. Despite the popularity of our newly launched LSO-21 Website after just one week, we want to make life easier for our customers. Yes, we’re SLASHING prices!

Our popular ASL Survival Course, originally priced at $49.95 is now permanently reduced to $29.95.

And here’s some extra good news for our existing customers who have already purchased our first course in the past week. We’re crediting you back the difference. Whether you paid by credit card or PayPal, you’ll instantly get a credit of $20.00 in your account within the next 48 hours.

We’re doing this because we care about our customers and we want our customers to be able to enrich their lives by continuing to learn American Sign Language affordably.

The response in the past week of new customers since our launch has been absolutely stunning. And it shows a real desire by Americans across the country to learn ASL. If you haven’t signed up for your course yet, click here to learn more.

    Thank you.

Learning Kenyan Sign Language in the Peace Corps

    By LSO-21 | May 21, 2008

    Story by Erickson Young

Hello! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Erickson Young. And I’d like to tell you a short story about myself. I graduated from Gallaudet University in 2003. After that, I decided I wanted to join the United States Peace Corps. (We’ll call it PC for short.)

The Peace Corps decided to send me to Kenya. This is the sign for “Kenya.” I lived there for two and a half years. I was a teacher and wanted to go to a third world country to give my knowledge and skills. Living there for two years, I had to learn their language, called Kenyan Sign Language (KSL.)

I wanted to share with you approximately 10 words so you can get an idea of what KSL looks like. So watch the video.

(See video to see the remaining video printed on slides.)

Erickson Young recently returned from Kenya where he was a U.S Peace Corps Volunteer advising on Kenyan Sign Language and Deaf culture to teachers and parents of Deaf children. He currently is an instructor at Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois.

If you liked this video, stay tuned for more KSL demonstrations from Erickson Young.

May 19, 2008 – Seasoned Deaf American Sign Language university instructors, Lisa P. Only the most qualified and experienced Deaf instructors and actors are brought in for the course content.

By using the Internet as the primary medium of instruction, customers experience the benefits of fresh updates and evolving supplements delivered instantly online at any time of the day.
